Location

The Department occupies three stories of the building at Attemsgasse 25. The ground floor houses the Department’s library, seminar room and exhibition space. Here you will also find the tutors’ room and the space used by doctoral candidates, including for projects. There is further space in which to socialize – including the balcony looking onto the garden.

Located on the first floor are the offices of our secretaries, professors and tutors as well as student and project staff. Here you will also find the conference and examination room, the Laboratory for Visual Anthropology (LaVisA) and the Meringer Collection, a historic collection of objects created by the Graz scholar of linguistics and material culture researcher Rudolf Meringer (1859–1931).

A copying and scanning device is also located on the first floor for your use (a copy card is required).

In the entrance hall on the first floor, you will find the voku-network's information board and a postbox in which you can deposit seminar work outside of office hours.
